A Capsule Wardrobe?

My name is Lisa and I must confess that my clothes no longer fit in my wardrobe - in fact, I can't remember the last time they did!

I've toyed with the idea of a capsule wardrobe (a relatively small number of clothes and accessories that can be interchanged to create an almost endless selection of outfits) for years, but have never quite got around to making it a reality. The problem is, I genuinely love shopping and trying new trends, so I'd be sad to cut that out of my life and worry I'd get really bored of only ever wearing the same things.

So here is my solution, I'm going to start out with just one month as my target.
For January 2018 I'm shrinking my wardrobe to a smaller number of versatile and classic pieces; then at the end of the month, I'll decide whether to keep it up for February, or whether to joyfully rescue the rest of my wardrobe from the several boxes they'll inhabit under my bed.
I've also decided to only do this with my clothes; my accessories (including shoes) and coats are safe - for now!

I'm excited to see what this will be like; can it turn around my ‘fast fashion’ shopping habit? Journey with me over the next month and let's see what happens!
Tomorrow I'll post the clothes I've chosen for my capsule wardrobe, and the process I used to pick them. Then I'll be posting my outfit of the day on my Insta Story everyday so you can see how I've styled them. My Insta is @lisaerinwoodson if you want to follow along.

What about you? Do you have a capsule wardrobe or is this something that you've ever tried? I'd love to know in the comments below.

P.S. Happy New Year!
